As we get closer to Miller's first birthday (!) I realized i hadn't posted monthly pictures of him since 8 months. Here's a quick catch up.

Doesn't he look like such a little boy in his 11 month photo? What happened to my baby!??

He Walks!

Over the past few weeks our little cruiser has taken a step or two between pieces of furniture, but he didn't seem to really get walking yet.

But this week that all changed! He's figured it out and is a walking machine. Here's a video Dave took early this week of one of his first longer walks. Since then he's running around everywhere - it happened so fast.

Enjoy! We'll be back soon with some much needed updates and pics.

England & Ohio

A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of joining my big brother Ren and my Mom on a 5 day trip to London. Ren was going for a conference so Mom and I tagged along.

It was an awesome trip! Ren and I had never been before and Mom’s last trip there was over 30 years ago. We had the chance to see most of the sites – Tower of London, St. Paul’s, Big Ben & Parliament, Kensington Gardens & Palace, Piccadilly Circus, Knotting Hill, Harrods, and much more. Mom and I also had the unique opportunity to go on a walking tour of East London to check out the Olympic facilities. It turned out to be more of a lesson on the economic and public health impact of the Olympics on East London, but we thought it was fascinating.

Here are some pictures from our trip!

Meanwhile, Dave and Miller (along with Aunt Abby and Winston!) jumped in the car and drove to Cincinnati to spend a few days with Anne & Harry.  It was quite the eventful trip for Miller! He went swimming for the first time with his Great Grandparents Wib & Jack at their pool. He also attended his first major league baseball game (we have the certificate to prove it!) where the Reds were ironically playing our DC home team, the Nationals.

We all reunited on Sunday – Mother’s Day – where my sweet boys greeted me at baggage claim with flowers and a sign. I’m a lucky Mum. J

Best Friends

Miller has a new interest - Winston. He can't get enough of him. Every time Winston leaves the room Miller tries to follow him. Anything Winston does is HILARIOUS to Miller (so maybe I'm not the only thing he finds funny!). It's really cute, but also kind of annoying to keep having to chase Miller down and keep him from pulling Winston's tail.

Winston is really sweet with him, though I think he's getting annoyed as well. Winston loves to lick Miller's face, and he's a big fan of this new eating thing, as more food ends up on the ground than in Miller's mouth. But there are definitely times when I can tell Winston wishes it was a little calmer around here.

Here are a few pics of the two of them Friday morning, just hanging out together.

Pulling Up

A couple of weeks ago, Miller started crying in the middle of the night. I went into his room and it was totally dark. I started feeling around in the crib and couldn't find him! He was crying and I knew I was right next to him, but I kept feeling around and couldn't find him. I then looked up and saw that he was standing in the crib and looking down at me! It was such a surprise, I'd never seen him pull up before!

Anyways, it's now a very common occurrence, so much so that we've dropped his crib down another notch just to be careful. He's crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything in site. It's so exciting to see him change and learn.

Here's a video I filmed the next morning, he thinks it's funny when I start to run in towards him and then back up. Have I mentioned how fun it is to have someone that finds everything I do hilarious?! It's great for self-esteem. :)

8 Months!

Little man is 8 months old!

He's eating a real variety of foods now, mixing up purees with some finger foods. His favorite thing right now are these little puffy things that taste like cheese. I started by introducing organic kale flavored puffs (which he hated, shocking!) and now am basically feeding him cheetos! But, he loves them and it's how he's learning to feed himself, so it's fine by me. :)

He's also crawling everywhere, pulling up and almost standing on his own. I think it's finally time to take this babyproofing thing seriously.

Here are some pics from the day he turned 8 months.
